In brief

What works, what to weigh

+

Strengths

4 reasons to book
  • Prime Old City location — A 7-minute walk from Topkapi Palace harem, with Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, and other attractions within easy reach. Many guests mention the convenience for sightseeing.
  • Friendly and helpful staff — Guests consistently praise the reception and service teams for their warmth and assistance, including arranging tours and accommodating room changes.
  • Spa and wellness facilities — An indoor swimming pool, plunge pool, sauna, Turkish bath, and a range of massage and beauty treatments are available on site.
  • Good breakfast selection — Breakfast is repeatedly called out in reviews for its variety and quality – from eggs, cheeses, and meats to pastries, fruit, and hot dishes.

Worth weighing

4 to weigh
  • Basic three-star comfort — Some guests find the hotel on the simpler side, describing it as 'basic hotel to sleep and little more'. Comfort rating is 7.0, lower than other categories.
  • Street noise from trams — The hotel is on a road with trams, which can be heard from some rooms – though many guests note the soundproofing is effective and request a quiet room on higher floors.
  • Small showers and hairdryer quirks — A couple of guests mention the shower cubicle being compact and the hairdryer overheating. These are minor but noted inconveniences.
  • No on-site parking — The hotel does not list parking among its amenities. Street parking in the Old City is limited and costly, so a paid airport shuttle or public transport is often the better option.

“The location is brilliant – close to Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. My two sons loved exploring. The cleaning lady and receptionist were very friendly.”

8Verified guest

“Quiet atmosphere and lovely decorated rooms.”

“Small hotel, typical three-star, good location – about a 15-minute walk to the Sultanahmet tourist area, though it is uphill. Many other hotels in the area might be better; this is a basic place to sleep. Reception was normal, some staff friendlier. Trams ran on the street below, but we asked for a quiet room and got one on the 7th floor. The area has shops and many restaurants. Sirkeci train station is a 10-minute walk, as is Galata Bridge.”

8Verified guest

“Perfect hotel – excellent service, brand-new rooms. I was given a wheelchair-accessible room with a Bosphorus view, a French balcony, and a standard double bed – that was great.”

8Verified guest

“We arrived on our own: took the metro from the airport to Yenikapi, then one stop to Sirkeci, and were at the hotel in minutes. On the 7th floor we had a breathtaking view of the Bosphorus. Breakfast was great – eggs, cheeses, sausages, fruit, vegetables, sweets, buns, dried fruits – all delicious. Location is super – everything is within walking distance: Topkapi, Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Suleymaniye. The hotel is quiet, and we hardly saw other guests except at breakfast. A small minus: the shower cubicle was small, and the hairdryer overheated and shut off after a minute. But these are minor compared to the many pluses. If we return to Istanbul, I would definitely stay here again.”

“We stayed with two kids and had an excellent time. Staff, services – everything was perfect. They changed my room and offered a larger one at the same price for the family. They also gave us detailed sightseeing guidance. Breakfast was like a five-star hotel – the best I had on my entire trip. I recommend this hotel for a stay in Sultanahmet.”

Getting around Istanbul

The property sits in Istanbul.

Topkapi Palace: A 7-minute walk from the hotel, the palace was the main residence of Ottoman sultans for centuries. Its harem is a highlight, and the complex offers sweeping views over the Bosphorus.

Hagia Sophia: About a 10-minute walk, this former Byzantine church and mosque is now a museum, famed for its massive dome and Christian mosaics.

Blue Mosque: Just beyond Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque impresses with its six minarets and interior covered in blue Iznik tiles. Visitors should dress modestly and avoid prayer times.

Sirkeci Station: A short walk away, this historic railway terminus was the endpoint of the Orient Express. Today it serves Marmaray trains and is a useful transport hub.

Eminonu waterfront: About 10 minutes on foot, the waterfront bustles with ferries to the Asian side, the Galata Bridge, and the Spice Bazaar close by.
